5.) If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options and click on the Privacy tab. Click on advanced and block third party cookies. You can also disable first party cookies (some sites might not work with this setting) but should allow session cookies as they are required for a number of shopping or banking sites. To manage cookies with Netscape or Mozilla, go to Edit, Preferences, Privacy and Security and click on Cookies. Make the desired selection at that point.

6.) Keep current on critical updates through Windows Update. This is a must do!!!

7.) Defragment your C:// drive on a regular basis. You can also run the Disk Cleanup utility on a regular basis.
